Porty People and Places

One of my busiest work days so far since coming hack from Qatar. Working from home in the morning, and then attending another important meeting in town in the afternoon. Home to prepare to chair an international Tele Conference in the early evening.

As the sun sunk we took a evening stroll along the setting sands. It was still. Beautiful. Fife seemed to sparkle with tantalising proximity. The Forth flickered in the gloaming. The evening flights from all over Europe high tailed into Turnhouse as the working day, in this part of the world, wound down.

The weekend in MENA has already begun and I am thinking of all my former colleagues in the Gulf who are convening on Sunday for the beginning of term meetings. Similar events are happening all round the educational world as the Academic Year 2014-15 begins.
