This land of plenty

According to Mr Cameron and others, we in the UK are all in it together as regards the current financial crisis. It would seem that some of us are in it much more than others according to what I read in the newspaper this morning.

According to a recent Eurostat Inequality Briefing, the UK is home to no less that nine of the 10 poorest regions in Northern Europe! GDP per head in the poorest UK regions is lower than any region of France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg, Austria, Ireland, Sweden, Finland or Denmark. However, we are also home to the richest region, which just turns out to be Inner London!

The Westminster Government is clearly doing a great job! Something else to think about when we go to the polls on September the 18th.
