Mr. President
For months and months we have been wondering what was happening with our son, Matt, who has been busy negotiating, wheeling, and dealing (one of the skills he did not inherit from either parent!)
When Matt graduated from the University of Colorado, with a degree in business, he came back home and lived with us while he looked for a job. It didn't take long for him to tire of that and move in with a bunch of his old buddies from high school. The jobs weren't as easy to find as he had been led to believe, but eventually, through a chance meeting in a parking lot somewhere, he took a job with Easton Sports as Junior Accounting Clerk.
I will skip all the intermediate steps--but for the last year, he has been wheeling and dealing on a grand scale. For the last year we have been hoping weekly to hear the result. Finally, this week, it came.:
A Message from Matt Arndt, President and General Manager
It is with great pleasure and excitement that today we announced that Chartwell Investments has reached an agreement to acquire the Easton Hockey business….It is important to point out that Easton Hockey, Inc is now an independently owned and operated hockey company….
This has been a long time coming and involved a lot of sleepless nights, long hours, interrupted phone conversations, because of "a call from Asia", and last minute flights to far flung places. Now the deal is officially done, and we are impressed that a kid of ours was able to pull this off!
Congratulations, Matt! We are truly proud of you, Mr. President.
