The Red Arrows
Today I took the children to watch the Bournemouth Air Festival. It's always hectic on the roads and difficult to park, but being a local of course I know all the back roads and quiet roads.
We chose to park in Southbourne and watch from the cliff top. It's quieter than central Bournemouth and gives the children a bit of space to run around, without a fear of them being out of my sight.
We enjoyed the noisy Typhoon, and of course the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. However, our breath was held for the famous Red Arrows. Always a show stealer year in and year out.
The weather was cloudy, which is some ways was good as we weren't blinded my the sun watching the planes, but photos were a little dull.
I took some lovely shots, but have chosen this as my blip for today, just because it's not a standard red arrows formation pic. As you can see there is one missing - apparently the pilots wife went into labour so he was unable to fly.
Lovely day out.....and free!
