My Best Biker Buddy

We're down in Houston to visit my favorite biker Gene. A couple of months ago he had a pre-op chest Xray for elective back surgery that picked up lung cancer. He researched the best place to go with his type of cancer and chose the folks at M. D. Anderson. He and his wife Kelly left Alaska temporarily and found a cheap apartment near the medical center where he's been undergoing vicious chemotherapy and soon radiation. The background in this shot is a quilt made back in Alaska in his honor with signatures and well wishes from friends and co-workers. Since I haven't been in Texas for 15 years, we went out for some good Tex-Mex and margaritas. Houston is a big working city (4th largest in the US) and quite a change of pace for us compared to sleepy Wasilla.
