Carlisle Sun Dial

Clare and I spent the day in Carlisle today. Clare had never been there before while I had only visited once - on a train spotting jaunt in 1975.

We had an excellent day. The castle and cathedral were excellent. So much so that we didn't have time for the acclaimed Tullie House Museum which will have to wait for a return visit.

We also loved the town's central square which has been made pedestrian only and has this very fine sundial.
