The ones that got away
This was a beautiful afternoon. I swear. It's a little hard to believe because it seems so hazy or smoggy but it's actually plastic.
It was so nice and we realized that we only had a few minutes before the sun went down so we ran to the water, grabbed some paddleboards and went for it. Wanting (needing) to blip this was going to be a hassle as I love my camera and cringe at the thought of getting a rain drop on it, let alone completely dunked in the ocean. So I grabbed my other camera (with a broken screen), threw it in a (very used) zip-lock bag and started paddling. It was a nice break from all day meetings and then, out of nowhere, it got so much better. Six dolphins split our group of five and swam between us for about ten minutes. Pacific White-sided Dolphins are normally a little curious and these six fit the bill. They checked us out and went on their way as I was trying in vain to get a few shots. With a broken screen I was trying to figure out why the camera was making such strange sounds when, all of the sudden, it died. I couldn't believe it. Dolphins were ten feet away in crystal clear water and I was holding a dead camera.
After they left, we were heading back in and I thought I'd try the camera again. This time it worked for about ten seconds and I took this picture.
I have to get a water-housing
