Mum

I was talking to Mum this morning about some of the photos and other family memorabilia that she's been digging out - I think they're things she'd like us to have after she's gone, though she hasn't said so in so many words. She remembered that she had this studio portrait of herself in a drawer, and took it out for me - I didn't remember having seen it before.

I've always thought how beautiful she looks in snapshots in the family album, but this has something particularly glamorous about it. Mum, of course, downplayed it as being nothing special and not really looking like her. But I know it's how I will want to think of her and remember her for the future.
