'History in the Keys'

Dylan was practising piano before bed tonight, I was watching him and looking at his fingers moving across the keys and thinking how many times have these keys been hit and how many songs has this old piano had played on it throughout it's life.

This piano is definitely showing it's age, which gives me a really warm feeling knowing how much joy this has given to everyone that has ever played it. It used to belong to a local school who virtually gave it away to our friends quite a few years ago, who in turn passed it on to us. It seems to be getting more and more use every week and the quality of the music it is producing is improving day by day with every practise session.

Tomorrow night is lesson night, let's see what he comes home with to practise this week.
