One flew over the cuckoo's nest

This is the impressive towers of the former Gartloch Hospital. The land in the area was purchased by Glasgow District Lunacy Board (yes, there was such a thing), and it opened in 1896 as a Lunatic Asylum.

If these walls could speak ..... what a story they would tell.

Before shashins or anyone else asks, the answer is no, I was never a patient.
