Damage

This morning as I was heading out in the sunshine I walked past the flowers and a cloud of insects rose up from them. There were lots of different types of bees and Hover flies, as well as wasps. However this evening when it was duller there was only one sluggish bee and one Hover fly.

Here is the Hover fly as the bee pictures were not very good and I was interested in the damage to the wings of this fly. One of the wings is missing quite a bit of its original structure, but it didn't seem to have much impact on its ability to hover.
