All the way to Ynys Môn
Long drive today, all the way to Ynys Môn, or Anglesey as we non Welsh speakers know it. Vauxhall chose Beaumaris as the location for the launch of the Adam Rocks, a funnily named and funky variation on its small hatchback, and the launch hotel is a turreted Francophile folly, Chateau Rhianfa.
The light across Anglesey this evening was spectacularly beautiful, and the water millpond smooth. Locals told us it was the best day they could remember for a very long time, so a lucky destination after a five and a half hour drive.
Before supper we went out on a rib boat ride, with a nautical boy racer at the wheel, so we did doughnuts in the Menai Straight and had a great time. This beautiful old pier across the water from Beaumaris is the second longest in Wales, apparently. The cars that await us tomorrow morning all have 64 plates, brand new on the road today, and the first I have seen.
