Only 10 miles!

But it was The Lecht — There and Back Again. This fantastic pass goes from the Cock Bridge by Corgarff Castle, over from Aberdeenshire to Moray, and turns to come back at the Well of Lecht, from where you can see the old Lecht Mine. There are 20% sections on both sides, and plenty of views to give cause to pause for a moment and let your heart rate get down a bit.
The road trip from home was also superb: in constant sunshine by Tillyfourie, Tough and Muggarthaugh, and using the back road from Muir of Fowlis to Glenkindie, a wonderful cyclist's road that winds up and down, this way and that, with great views, above the Don River. 8 miles was the Pass, but plus 2 miles of necessary warm up, because it starts immediately at 20%! NB You are not allowed to get off and push! That's a FAIL!
