On the Spa Bridge at Scarborough

1827 is emblazoned proudly on its iron structure. Its opening was
celebrated with horses and carriages passing from St Nicholas
Cliff below Woods Lodgings (where the Grand Hotel stands today)
and where the Brontes used to stay until Anne's death there in 1849,
over what was then a stream running down to the sea. In the quiet
of the early morning the sounds of such memories do not go unheard
as they too will have been greeted by the sun struggling to break through.
the clouds.
