A Surprise Visitor

Now what business could one of Her Majesty's Ships have
in this Town? Smugglers discharged to the local police
cells perhaps? But the vessel looked far too shipshape to have
been recently engaged in any anything more stressful than
riding the waves. It was not long, as you might expect, before
my casual surveillance from the quayside in the early hours
was reciprocated ! I was then treated to a health report on
HMS Trumpeter which was limping at 12 knots per hour from
Ipswich to Newcastle -upon - Tyne for an engine refit so the
journey was broken at Scarborough. When restored to health
the vessel will resume its duties of navigation training.
