Spoonbridge and Cherry
This sculpture, by Claes Oldenburg and Cooje van Bruggen, is in the sculpture garden at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. My guidebook says that motion detectors were installed after locals decided to memorialise their love with nocturnal visits. I thought the garden was the best part of the Walker, which did however have some interesting exhibits. The access bridge across I94 was enjoyable too with some poetic words on the steelwork.
Earlier today, I walked over to Dinkytown to find the place where Bob Dylan lived in the early 1960s - now the Loring Pasta Bar and formerly Gray's Drug store. For those who like his music, the relevant song is Positively 4th Street. On a perfect morning for a long walk, the view of the City, across the Stone Arch Bridge was fabulous.
I also enjoyed having a look inside the Hennepin County Government Center.
