So what?

Just making sure you don’t go without me again.

Slow getting down to work today, due to a constitutional along the beach and dipping into some shops in search of a sugar bowl – all huge and plastic or dinky and acrylic, so nothing doing. Yet another new shop has opened up in our street- a bit sad really, as we’ve seen so many people invest their all in a nice little shop or café, only to see it close down after a few months or years. A delightful, upmarket new café, with a tiny but beautifully appointed kitchen housing three cooks tucked behind a glass screen, opened up just last week. Rose and Andy and I tried it out and their Italian coffees and homemade goodies are delicious – but expensive, and folks round here keep their money close. I fear for their future.

Anyway, bought some dehydrated risotto de funghi at the new health shop and we tried it at lunch time. It must have been brown rice or summat, because it took forever to cook, but it wasn’t bad, if a little light on the funghi. And at least we have somewhere close by to get gluten-free bread – for now.
