Place of work
We are lucky enough to have 2 spare bedrooms in our house as it is only us and the dogs and so we have each claimed one for our own. This is mine. The smallest bedroom was always mine when I was little owing to being the youngest and the only girl so I guess I am comfortable in the little bedroom, or box room as we used to call it.
The boxes along the left are full of stationery, keepsakes, wool, fabrics, ribbons and beads. There are two more of the storage units in upright versions in the room full of books from childhood, including all my sewing and knitting books.
The desk is an old drop leaf table I bought from a charity shop, sanded down, removed the leaves and painted white. I like the shape of the legs as they reminded me of the old iron legged sewing tables. You can just see my sewing machine on the floor to the left of the legs. The char is a repro Tulip Chair and matches those in the dining room for when we have extra guests.
This is where I sit and work during the day. The window looks out over the front of the house so I can be a nosey neighbour at the same time as getting the best natural light.
Yes, home is my current place of work and I hope I can keep it that way.
