4 years

Today we clocked up 4 years since the 7.1 magnitude earthquake smacked into our lives. After it came a sequence of thousands of other quakes we could never have anticipated.

I salute the thousands of people in my city who continue to live with uncertainty, a level of stress few can truly appreciate and who cannot move on.

Those who can't flush toilet paper, where the sewers spew across their lawns when it rains, doors and windows don't shut and drafts and leaks are plugged with newspaper. Those who have land as busted as their houses.

Hope. Resolution. Peace.
