Day 24: An Apple a Day
Can't believe we are leaving paradise and bikinis today in exchange for jackets and 40 degree weather down under. But kiwis and ozzies are cool too :)
We were warned about how strict Customs is in New Zealand and sure enough, we got stopped when my friend tried to be a good citizen and declare her beef jerky from Hawaii. They continued to search her bag and found an apple that she had forgotten was packed from the hotel on Moorea. The cost of her negligence? $400 AUD! Yup, that's one expensive apple that she didn't even get to eat :( Well, that will teach us to be more aware of what we are bringing into or taking out of each country!
Plus, we lost a day after crossing the International Dateline. New Zealand has a lot to make up for us.
