CannyScot's Day

Peter Pan

Warm but overcast day.

After lunch, Eleanor and I went to Kirriemuir for afternoon tea/coffee. In the town centre is this statue of Peter Pan. You might just see a sign down on the bottom left for the Hook Hotel, which, unfortunately, looks as if it is up for sale.

Kirriemuir was the birthplace, in May 1860, of J. M. Barrie, who wrote the book, Peter Pan. There is a Museum about Barrie in the town, a Camera Obscura donated by Barrie and St. Mary's Episcopal Church, where he was buried after his death in June, 1937. If you would like to see a photo of the church, which is a most impressive building, see here.

In other news, Andy Murray fought valiantly against Novak Djokovic but just wasn't strong enough. Maybe 2015 will be his big comeback year - we can always hope.

My apologies for falling behind a little in commenting but I have been rather distracted the last couple of days.

Happy blipping.
