Fence

The white wooden fence is new in the last couple of days. It is about 3 times longer than can be seen here. It is screening off the building site for a new Waitrose store. It is being built on ground purchased from the rugby club: they didn't mind spectators looking through a wire mesh fence.

Even one of the workmen on the site was staggered at the fence. Each sheet of ply cost over £13 he claimed; they have all been carefully painted; the framework they are mounted on is substantial; and goodness know how many man hours went into creating this monstrous erection. The cost must be thousands of pounds. Presumably it is a security fence and necessary but it has changed the landscape of Milngavie.
