Symbol of Freedom

Parliament Square is one of my favourite London spots and the Mandela statue is always popular with tourists for photos. Lovely detailing on his batik shirt, although this shot is probably too dark to see that. I do always wonder, though, why there's no statue of Emmeline Pankhurst, particularly since there's lots of Votes for Women memorabilia in the Houses of Parliament shop! I'm going to start a 'Statue of Emmeline' campaign...
