The Birthday

Today Mum is 93 years old. We decided to have a low key celebration and invited a few friends to come in for coffee/tea or tea/coffee, if that makes sense. This morning there were a dozen and this afternoon 7, plus one who came at lunchtime (when I was wanting to wash up and make ready for the afternoon!)

It was a happy day with plenty of time for people to chat and enjoy some lovely tempting food produced mainly by a neighbour who is doing small scale catering. Her tiny cheese scones were divine - so was the apple cake, the tiffin, etc.

We are a bit tired and about to watch Mastermind before an early night.
