Opera House
Spent the late afternoon walking the roof of the Oslo Opera House. It's an amazing building, clad in white granite and marble, located at the head of Oslofjord . The view from the top is outstanding.
Later I had a look inside and was given a ticket to the evenings performance, the premiere of Shostakovich's Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk by the Norwegian Opera. One of the musicians was dashing in to change for the performance and handed me the ticket saying "it starts soon, enjoy!"
It was fantastic to go inside and see the auditorium full of people. The performers were superb but I'm not sure this particular opera is my thing.
This is the Opera House after the performance. To see the building in all its glory try here.
