Pigeon Shower

Rainy day today and I spent a good chunk of the morning sorting through loads of old gadgets / tech from a cupboard I emptied last week - trying to see if anything similar has sold on ebay recently....and I reckon it maybe worth £100 - £150 plus I have a lens and an SLR wihch should be worth £500 as well - so tomorrow should be spent photographing them all!

I was in the kitchen at lunch time when I spotted this pigeon sitting on the grass under a drips of water from a bush. It was raising its' wing like this and catching the drips then having a rummage around with the beak - it then appeared to 'rinse and repeat'. Then it did the other wing!

Shot is through the window with lens at full stretch - so not sharpest shot in the world - but it made me smile on a grey day.

Got absolutely soaked on dog walk this afternoon - it began to rain when we were at the furthest point from home - so we had 30 minutes of walking in the rain.

This evening we had a group of four blackbirds rummaging around for worms - three of them still had some brown feathers around their heads so I think these may have been this years new brood!
