Navy Football
Here’s a selfie of my dad and I at a Navy football game. Every year my family goes to a Navy game and then tours the Naval Academy. We saw the Blue Angel airplane unit. Navy games are interesting because the band is a brass and percussion only ensemble. The navy band is elite and extremely difficult to get into. Their marching show is phenomenal. Throughout the show they align themselves to spell “NAVY” and then end in the formation of an anchor. Another interesting factor about these games are the academy members themselves. Every time Navy scores a touchdown, the academy members drop and do as many push-ups as the navy scoreboard reads. This means that if Navy scores a touchdown and has 49 points, the members do 49 push-ups. It’s very amusing to watch. The cheerleaders are great as well. Navy has male and female cheerleaders and a dance team. The cheerleaders are constantly flipping and stunting. The male cheerleaders do gymnastics up and down the sidelines. The Navy mascot, the ram, is also on scene. The Ram interacts with fans and does push-ups with the academy members. Besides a mascot ram, Navy football also has 2 real rams that they walk around the field. These rams are painted Navy colors (blue and gold). Navy football games are incredible.
