The Last Supper
This photo was taken when my church did a “Jesus Walk”. The Jesus walk was an interactive seminar showing Jesus’s walk to the cross. My grandmother, cousin, and I signed up to demonstrate “The Last Supper”. We decorated one of the Sunday school rooms and turned it into a biblical times dining room. People were sent to us in groups and we seated them at our table. My cousin handed each person a croissant, cup of grape juice, and a baby wipe. Each of these items served a symbolic purpose. We welcomed each person and asked them if they knew what we were reenacting. After telling them we were demonstrating Jesus’s last supper we handed them a card showing they had participated in our portion of the Jesus Walk. We explained how in biblical times they washed each other’s feet to demonstrate the act of serving others. We then explained how Jesus told his disciples this was his last supper with him. Next we reenacted the breaking of bread and drinking of wine. After this we explained how Jesus said someone at the table would betray him and said Peter would deny him 3 times. After this we announced our portion of the Jesus Walk was over and they were heading to the garden of Gethsemane next. It was an amazing night.
