Class 37 37324 Clydebridge at Ropley

I had another day out with my friend Matt who lives in Hampshire. we went in fact into the heart of "Storyland" as I call it. We looked at a fair stretch of the disused Meon Valley Line between Mislingford and Privett. We had lunch at The Bucks Head at Meonstoke which was superb. Adding colour to it all was a horse and sulky parked in the car park and a wedding party in tails and the women in flash dresses!

Unbeknown to us, when we went on to the Mid Hants Railway there was a Diesel Gala on. This picture shows Class 37 37324 Clydebridge in BR Blue with yellow ends. These machines have a wonderful sound which exudes the pulling power that theyhave. They have a very noble appearance when viewed from the side with the curving roof and windows of thecab ends.

I saw it all again today as when we left Alresford, with the church bells ringing were two coachloads of wedding guests complete with more tails, flash dresses, heels, fascinators and an awesome cloche hat!

On the way home, I was driving back along the M27 when I saw a vehicle parked on the hard shoulder. The driver was on the other side of the crash barrier having a pee..... If he'd been caught, that would have been a very expensive way to spend a penny!
