Late water lilies

The leaves are falling and gathering in piles on the driveway.
The barley field has been harvested.
Red rowans and wild rosehips abound.
The apple trees are laden with fruit not yet ripe.
The maple tree is bright red.

Tonight the light on the pond was beautiful and we sat out for a while in the evening.

I worked all day on a difficult report I hadn't managed to finish during the week and it doesn't feel like Saturday night .
But I am really pleased to get it finished.
