My days ...My life

Harvest Time

Today we have had long rather sad discussions about the referendum here in Scotland.
J's Mum was distraught by the news that the polls showed an increase in the YES vote . Her identity is British and Scottish having lived 83 of her 87 years in Scotland.
Her life story is a complex one of privilege and hardship . There is real fear of fundamental change and a sense of isolation at the thought of an independent Scotland.

She asked if we could help her put up her flag pole in the garden which we did ...so the Union Jack and the Saltire are gentle flapping side by side in the breeze as we left her .

Heading towards bed with the desperate need to believe in the possibility of a fairer , more compassionate and just society . Will Scotland be able to do any better on its own ? I would like to think so but I am not sure .
