San Francisco Botanical Gardens
Although it started off grey and a bit foggy, the sun finally came out at lunchtime. I spent a few hours in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, most of the time in the Botanical Gardens. It was well worth a visit - a quiet oasis in the city.
The gardens consist of 55 acres, with a diverse collection of plants from around the world. In addition to the Redwood Cove and the area of California Native plants, including a large area of succulents, there were collections from New Zealand, Australia, South America (particularly Chile) and temperate Asia.
The view in this picture is of the Sutro Tower, a popular San Francisco icon. My June 24th blip also includes the tower.
