The end of a busy day

This is son C, walking home from the shed late this afternoon, after finishing feeding the calves. C comes up to the shed each morning and afternoon to help, and does a wonderful job looking after our wee babies.

When I got up to milk this morning (at 5am), the sky was lit up with lots of beautiful looking stars. Not long after that, thick fog rolled in, making it difficult seeing too far ahead of us.

After breakfast we fed out, and then Farmerboy calved a cow that had been struggling to give birth. I was one of the assistants helping - my job was to hold the cow's tail - a very important job! Lol. Unfortunately the calf was dead, and looking at the afterbirth, it would appear that it had been dead for some time. The most important thing is that the cow is fine.
