Very early start
I was up at 4:30 and out by 5:15 this morning. Not something I would normally do of a Sunday morning.
The weather was looking perfect for getting the image I've been asked to get by work. So, it was out early and up the M1. I was at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, 100 miles from home by 6:30.
I got there and the sun was just above the horizon and was a lovely fireball red. Not wishing to miss anything, I dropped the car off at the closest point to the park without parking on double yellows or in permit only spaces - that meant I was still 1/2 mile away from the entrance and a good mile from where I wanted to be. I took the decision that the light was too good to miss so I didn't put my boots on. That was a big mistake. By the time I got back, my trainers were sopping wet. Most of the paths are well made - it was the grass that dis for me. Never mind - its all in a good cause I kept reminding myself.
In my haste to get to the point where I needed I missed a turning onto a public footpath. I only found it later as I retraced my steps. In the meantime, I had found the lake which was covered in mist. Too good an opportunity to miss. This is a 7 shot HDR with a bit of a tweak and a slight darkening of the sky. Worth the early start on it's own.
I then found the spot I needed and took lots of pano shots. I got the shot I needed I think. I'll find out tomorrow when I submit it and a few others to the commercial artistic guy. To print up at 100 dpi the file size is 2GByte. As people will be sitting right up close to the finished image, I want to get the maximum detail as possible.
