40 Foot Shadow

Lovely evening, after a mostly sunny day. 'The clouds are coming', said my cousin, who was basking in the garden (as she always does when the sun lingers). Yes, the clouds were coming, though they never quite came together in a cloud ceiling. And anyway the clouds are always coming, so one has to snatch the fugitive clearings when they occur. I drove out to Sandycove and the Forty Foot, where there were a fair few bathers, including this man at his stretches. I've always liked that concrete changing shelter, and this evening it was a perfect little stage for the full warmth of the not-quite-setting sun. All that was needed was a walk-on part by someone's shadow.
