Normandy morning

Rushing for breakfast on a morning when the bus was leaving for Bayeux at 8.30am, I couldn't help stepping aside - out into the Chateau grounds - to take a quick photo of the morning. The sun had not yet risen, but it's presence was promised in the golden clouds above the mist that lay on the grass and curled round the trees.

We've had wonderful weather here, with just enough of autumn to lend an appropriately elegiac feel. In the morning we leave for Caen, and the next day head to Zeebrugge and the overnight ferry. I want to stay here ...
