Family Portrait

In my past professional life, it's been my privilege to deliver several hundred babies. I can still recall the incredible sense of wonder I experienced the first time I saw a baby come in to the world. That was some thirty five years or so ago, and it would still have the same impact on me today. Witnessing a birth, one is compelled to believe that God has a purpose for every one of the babies brought forth. This porcelain sculpture was a gift from a friend when I retired from that part of my life, and I really treasure the meaning and memories it represents. It is a bit of an emergency blip, but it is also something I will enjoy having in my journal.
