Steam Train Heaven!

This the magnificent A4 Class locomotive 'Sir Nigel Gresley', it's sibling 'Mallard', designed by Sir Nigel Gresley (which is in the National Railway Museum in York) still holds the world record for the fastest steam locomotive in the world!

Only 3 of these impressive trains are left in the UK. I have never seen an A4 working until today and then to be able to ride in the train being hauled by this wonderful engine was a huge privilege.

We returned to the North York Moors Railway today to enjoy the wonderful scenery we missed on Saturday night when we had dinner on the Pullman Dining train (it was dark before we had reached the dessert course!), but we had no idea that the 'Sir Nigel Gresley was running.

Call me sad...but it made my day!
