Hexham Abbey
This was a real bonus today. We'd already had a great time visiting a section of Hadrian's Wall and popped into Hexham for refuelling.
The Abbey is truly spectacular and impossible (for me anyway) to convey its beauty in a picture, especially with a phone. I find it hard to understand how buildings like this could ever be constructed; just shaping a single stone seems like a major operation.
Much like the 80-mile Hadrian's Wall, I doubt it could be done today.
