Paris--Evening Clouds

I took this photo from our Paris apartment at 18:54 this evening, 45 minutes after sunset. We're renting in the 13th arrondissement (not far from the Place d'Italie), and this view looks roughly ESE (more or less where the sun now rises. We're on the 4th floor, overlooking the Rue des Peupliers. and the view is fabulous--I'll show other versions in the weeks to come.

For Photoshop people this was shot at ISO 2500; it's uncropped, processed only with noise reduction, and very slight adjustments using shadow/highlights, levels, and curves (no change in saturation). Admittedly the colors in the sky are more vivid than I perceived with the naked eye, but this basically shows what the camera captured.

Perhaps not incidentally, the Chinese New Year was being celebrated in Chinatown, around or just beyond the high buildings!
