Bolton Cone
Today's the day ......................... to see for ourselves
Recognise any of these faces?
We've spent a lovely day with Paula and Gordon over in their neck of the woods - seeing some of the places that we have come to know through their blips.
We had a very pleasant walk along the embankment of the River Eamont to the delightful St Ninians's Church at Brougham. Paula had written about it here and it was a real treat to see inside it for ourselves.
Any follower of Paula's Journal will be familiar with her mission to visit all of Andy Goldsworthy's pinfold cones. We were taken to see the one in the village of Bolton. It was a strange and quite exhilarating feeling to actually see one of the cones in the flesh. I knew what it was going to look like - but I didn't expect it to be so textured and warm to the touch.
It was such a pleasure to spend the day in the company of these two lovely people. Hope we can do it again soon ......................
