An Old Mack Fire Truck

When I recently saw this truck at a local junk yard,
I knew I just had to go back.
How many times can you see one up close,
especially a pretty old Mack?

Page after page, I looked online...
trying to determine the year.
I'm going with between '48-'51...
or at least somewhere near.

I should've gone in to talk to the guys,
to ask about the price.
But...let's just say they're pretty rude,
and usually not very nice.

Someone needs to buy the truck,
to restore it to its former shape.
Perhaps that someone could be me...
how do you think it would look in duct tape?

I can see her when she was part of the action,
cling, clang...on a fiery trip.
But, for now...it sits...forlorn and sad,
only good for my blip.
