Moment of opportunity

Setting off late afternoon on the road bikes we decided to head for the nearby pass over the mountains. We set off into unexplored territory threatened by heavy rain clouds. Despite the climb and the pending rain, we continued on with the temptation of a hot cup of chocolate at the hospice at the top of the pass. It didn't matter that the hospice was shut, the scenery was spectacular, the wind biting and the cows oblivious to it all. Satisfaction guaranteed: the rain clouds dodged us by, the descent was awesome and the road bike and I have found a new lease of life in these mountains.
As my good friend often says: "Do the unexpected in the hills and you will get unexpected rewards."
