Rope, Ruins and Vaila Hall

The lovely sunny morning clouded over with a misty haze and then some sunny spells later in the day.

Day off today and up early to get ready for a trip to the isle of Vaila. A long chug with on the Golden West with Brian and Sammy dog, almost two hours from Scalloway. The island is full of life with pigs, a herd of Highland coos, chickens, sheep, wildlife and only two residents on the island :) We had a fine walk around the isle, to the main house and to the watch tower. There was also a lovely elderly couple mending the potholes on the road and four other folk in visiting the isle :)

Looking up from one of the piers, catching some rope and an old ruin with Vaila Hall to the left in the distance. A lovely old Shetland Haa originally with the massive Victorian castle built on the side. A big house for two people but I wouldn't complain :)
