I've been facilitating mental health first aid training for six years.
Sharing skills and helping people to understand how simple it can be to make a difference to someone who is struggling to cope has become a passion of mine.
Over the years I've noticed a shift. A very positive one. A shift in people's attitude to mental health and a shift in how willing they are to talk, listen and empathise.
This is great news for every one of us. Collectively if we are skilled and confident enough to reach out a helping hand or offer a listening ear, the shift would be even greater. Welldoing to foster wellbeing.
I ask participants to write on a post-it how they've become mental health first aiders. I am always thrilled to read them. Here are this week's bunch of well doers.
