Hunting

We went out at 10.30pm to drive over to Parbold Hill on the basis that it would be a good viewing point for Aurora, as storm conditions were strong and there was a good chance of activity.

Skies were clear all the way up.

Sadly, the cloud rolled in pretty much as we parked up.

This is looking south. Not aurora, just the effects of light pollution from Wigan.

To the North, some clear skies, but not to the horizon and certainly not sufficient for any amazing solar activity impact.

Took a drive over the M65, across the tops towards Burnley, back down the A56 and M66, past school and back home. The boys slept all the way back!!!

Ah well, at least we tried - I would have kicked myself if we hadn't and we subsequently missed something.

Now though, bed, painkillers, sleep - it has been a high pain level day and I haven't been able to hide it from people either. In fact, I didn't even try.
