Yet another shag...
But this one has all the feather detail showing. There were actually two other shags beside him, watching the display but I decided they were just a distraction.
These birds fascinate me in many ways, especially when they dive under and after a worryingly long time pop up in a totally unexpected place. And too, the way they dry their wings, out- stretched in the sun.
I believe the coloured patch on the cheek is due to it being the breeding season.
