Day's End

A heat wave is coming to Southern California, but this afternoon was practically perfect. The usual afternoon winds did not kick up, the temperatures were not that bad, and I got to spend the early evening playing volleyball in these ideal conditions. Of course, I was not the only one out enjoying the great weather. The beach pathway was full - joggers, bikers, walkers, bladders, all manner of people out and about - and they made for some nice silhouettes against the lifeguard shack, pier, and setting sun. I very much liked how the dust from the beach was backlit in this shot and it shows quite a few of the many people taking advantage of awesome weather.
