The big hill

Some good friends are joining us for the rest of our holiday, but before they arrived we took the opportunity of having a lovely walk up a hill on a bright sunny day. This is a view of Canigou, our local Pyrenee. It's visible from all over French Catalonia and is a lovely sight at any time of year. To my eye, it is at its most majestic with a covering of snow. Today was really too hazy (and it was too near midday) for a really decent shot, but this gives you the idea.

Our friends arrived just after we had lunch and a sit in the sunshine, then we were off on the expected round of catching up.
