Our traditional crayfish party

Today we celebrated the autumn by throwing our traditional crayfish party at my mother's farmhouse. Here my sister Eija bringing the bright red delicacies to the table.

It is customary to nominate one person or a couple as the masters of ceremony in charge of catching the crayfish and cooking them as well as organising the evening.
This year my sister Leena was in charge, but since she lives in Kotka she did not participate in the crayfish bsuiness at all. Instead she took care of the meal and programme after the meal. Leena had prepared some delicious tomato and feta cheese pies for us. Afterwards she and Pirkka threw a crayfish competition for us - Anne was the lucky and talented winner. Eija together with her friend Timo cooked the crayfish, while A and I were catching the crayfish together with Paula and Esa.

Unfortunately not everybody could attend the event seems that there is a bout of flu going around: Susku, Riku and Petri were absent because of it. Vertti and Severi were afraid that this might be the last sunny and dry weekend, and they spent the weekend renovating their newly acquired wooden fishing boat.

We had a good time playing charades and a nice boardgame called Compatibility until 2am.
